For over 10 years now a group of ladies and myself have been teaching a weekly Bible study at the Scott County Justice Center and we have been dismayed at the return rate of the ladies after they get out of jail.  One would think they would not want to return, but more than half of them do.

We started questioning the ladies as to why and realized that most of the ladies did not have a good support group to help them re-enter society.  They either had no one or went back to the same group that led to their time in jail.

Along with this, many found the responsibilities of getting a job, needing a car, or paying bills to be too much to do alone.

​

It was through these conversations that Leah's Promise was born.  The mission of Leah's Promise is to provide a safe environment where women in our area can develop their skills to meet the challenges of life with a biblical perspective and focus.

We promise to Love, Educate, Affirm and Help these ladies any way we can to help them reach their goals and become a productive member of society.
